I cannot rave enough about this recipe! I am a hero with my family and this was the first cake I made EVER. I ended up using canned tart cherries, being it’s November. The cake was incredibly moist and delicious! My sister in law, who loves Black Forest cake and has eaten it everywhere, including all throughout Germany said it was the best one she ever had. Wonderful!

Agree cherries have to dry if using maraschino or frozen…
